Sweetgrass Productions took a big risk with the 2013 release of Valhalla, their fourth full-length feature. Lucky for them—and all of us—high risk yielded high reward. The film hit it big among viewers with its ethereal, pensive narrative that went beyond traditional ski flick boundary ropes. Landing "Movie of the Year" and "Best Editing" at the 2014 Powder Awards, the film has all the basics—big mountain lines, great tunes, tons (and tons) of pow, and plenty of skiing “au naturale”—with beautiful cinematography. But more notably, it carried a fictional plot line that artfully incorporated a psychedelic-meets-bohemian spiritual element unlike any film in the genre. So pop your popcorn, put your feet up, and let Valhalla dance you into the weekend. Watch it here at Powder.com.
