Luxury Finnish hotel plans four rooftop ski slopes
Not to be outdone by Kazahkstan and Denmark, Finland has decided to jump into the rooftop skiing game, as one architect has revealed plans for an ambitious luxury hotel doubling as a ski area. Shaped in a pinwheel, the Koutalaki Ski Village will feature four unique ski runs off roofs of buildings, all accessible via elevator. The village is expected to break ground later this year.

Shiffrin back on snow, racing soon
The Shiffrin comeback train has left the station and appears to be gaining some serious momentum. After suffering a knee injury that sidelined her for over two months, Mikaela Shiffrin is back on snow and set to return to competition as early as late February for the Soldeu, Andorra, World Cup stop according to an interview with The Denver Post. After all of the injury news in the alpine world this season, having Shiffrin back in the game is a huge boost for race fans everywhere.

There's a legit push for wi-fi in all national parks
Soon we'll be able to post Naturegrams without wasting any of our precious data thanks to a movement by Congressional Democrats to get wi-fi in national parks. California Rep. Jared Huffman and four others sent a letter to President Obama recently detailing plans to increase funding for wireless Internet access in parks nationwide according to Government Executive. While it does seem a little annoying on the surface, cell service tends to come in handy when you're stranded in the woods. Just sayin'.
