The votes are in for the first round of the fourth annual Ski Town Throwdown. There were landslide victories, devastating losses, a few that were almost too close to call. A few standouts:

Rocky Mountain West
Aspen, last year’s champion, took out Telluride with 60 percent of more than 5,400 votes.

Far West
Whitefish advances, but just barely. They took home the Win over Bend by just 77 votes.

Great White North
Another close one Nelson. Sorry to say it, but Kicking Horse squeezed past you with 56 percent of the votes.

The Big East
The biggest win of the week: Mad River Valley whomped on Lake Placid, walking away with almost 80 percent of the votes.

Congrats to all. Voting on round two resumes at 9 a.m. PST on Monday, October 19.
