KC Brousseau from Saranac Lake, NY, prevailed in one of the most contested Jib Academy finals ever, thus earning the second of three North American spots at the Salomon Jib Academy finals in Mammoth, California this May.
Brousseau beat out a talented field of 65 skiers from throughout the Northeast to win the Sunday River Jib Academy. The top prize is a free trip to Jib Academy finals, where he will ski with winners from around the world get tips from Salomon's international team during the weeklong event. In addition to the trip to Mammoth, Brousseau is also pre-qualified into the 2010 Dumont Cup, which takes place next weekend, March 26-27, also at Sunday River.
"My favorite part of Jib Academy was the format," said KC. "It was awesome to shred in our groups all morning with coaches. It was super laid back."
Jib Academy combines morning camp sessions with coaches, and an afternoon jam session for the best 10 skiers as picked by the other campers. The winners were also chosen by the Jib Academy participants.
The final stop of the tour is April 3 at Stevens Pass, Washington. The event is free, but spots are limited. Go to www.salomonjibacademy.com for more.
