(Los Angeles, CA, July 18, 2013)—On Wednesday night, Rory Bushfield attended the 21st annual ESPY awards with the first winner of the Sarah Burke Foundation’s “Up and Coming Scholarship” Award, 14-year-old Winter Vinecki. The Foundation was established in memory of Bushfield’s wife, Sarah Burke, to commemorate the overwhelming generosity and kindness of the world-renowned X Games gold medalist.

Winter Vinecki is an avid triathlete and skier whose sights were set on alpine skiing until Sarah Burke's performance at a water ramp camp inspired her to change course. The teenager is now pursuing aerial skiing and is a major philanthropist. She has raised over $400,000 for prostate cancer research through "Team Winter," the charity she founded. Winter dreams of becoming the youngest person to complete a marathon on every continent.
