Well into their winter season, ski resorts in the Central Andes have seen one of the biggest storms in a decade roll through in recent weeks, hitting Chile and Argentina with more than four feet snow in 24 hours in some areas.
This week, it’s skiers at Ski Portillo making us jealous, where nearly six feet accumulated. Chris Davenport has been making our knees buckle with shots posted to his Instagram, and when he said yesterday was one of his top days of all time, we reached out to the big mountain skier for more. He and a slew of pros, including Ingrid Backstrom, Mike Douglas, Jess McMillan and others, are down south coaching their annual Superstars Camp.
“It's snowed 100-plus inches in the last eight days, and conditions are the best they've been in the last five years,” said Superstar Camp photographer Jesse Hoffman. “The sun came out in between smaller storms and it's safe to say that today was epic.”
If that doesn’t make you want to quit your job and book the next flight, these photos will.
