Park City, Utah, December 16, 2013 - Park City Mountain Resort hosts the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix presented by The North Face on January 17-18, 2014 in King's Crown park and the Eagle Superpipe - followed by the official naming ceremony for the first ever U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team. The competition will be a crucial Olympic qualifying event, with freeskiing making its Olympic debut just weeks later at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

Many of the world's finest freeskiers are expected to compete in both halfpipe and slopestyle disciplines at this Grand Prix stop. This event is the final opportunity for athletes from several countries, including the United States, to qualify for their countries' Olympic freeskiing teams. Men's and women's events in both disciplines will be held on both January 17 and 18, with winners for both events being crowned on each of those days.

Immediately following the competition's conclusion on January 18, PCMR hosts the official naming ceremony for the first ever U.S. Olympic Freeskiing Team. Naming ceremony festivities include a free on-mountain concert.

The entire event is free and open to the public, and will be a prime opportunity for fans to get their own look at athletes who will be featured prominently in Olympic coverage just a few weeks later. Athletes expected to compete include: Tom Wallisch, Bobby Brown, Nick Goepper, David Wise and Devin Logan.
