Another streak was broken this week, as I'm finally reporting good news from Vail after a 627-day negative spell.

Thanks to a coalition made up of Vail Resorts, the Town of Vail, and several other local players, Vail has become the first destination in the world to be certified to the Mountain IDEAL sustainable destination standard.

To us laymen, that means they are doing a pretty darn good job cleaning up, even if it looks like they’re hopping on the band wagon after Mount Ashland and Diamond Peak took concrete steps toward sustainability. In addition to their town-wide sustainable business approach, Vail has eliminated disposable plastic bags, and implements strict recycling mandates. The designation lasts for three years.

World Champ Ski Jumper Close to Tour de France podium
And I thought logging a couple groomer laps on a snowboard was a triumphant double. Well, Slovenian former junior world champion ski jumper Primoz Roglic is upping the ante, in position to crack the Tour de France podium with less than a week remaining in cycling's most prestigious race series.

Just 48 seconds off third place, Roglic gave up skiing after his championship in 2007 and switched full-time to cycling.

In just his second Tour de France, the gamble seems to be paying off. Go on, big fella, go on!

VIDEO: Thibault Magnin Brings the Mack Back
TGR and Level 1 just dropped ridiculous trailers, but guys!!! I found an edit with "Return of the Mack," in it! And it's actually good! Swiss-Spanish ski guy Thibault Magnin drops his season edit and will probably never realize how much he made our day. Bien hecho, compadre.

Man Completes First Ever Ski Descent of K2
Polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel made history this week becoming the first man to ski off the summit of K2 (Dave Watson skied from 1,500 feet short of the 28,250-foot summit in 2009).

According to Red Bull, the Pole clicked-in from the top and skied continuous snow from top to bottom. An unofficial congrats goes to this dude's shop guy, who performed the tune of a lifetime. Read our complete coverage here.

-Where ya headed this week, Andy?

-K2, I will crush it.

-Ah yeah…cool man. Friday good for pickup?

Aerial Tram Emoji Ends Least-Used Emoji Streak
A big round of applause to you, the aerial tram emoji 🚡 for finally ending your streak as least-used emoji after 77 days at the bottom of the emoji pile. Like the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs, you were bound to get a win sometime.
