It's official—ski season is here. As of Saturday, October 13, Wolf Creek Ski Area in Southwestern Colorado became the first ski area or resort in the nation to open for the 2018-19 season.
Thanks to an early October storm that dumped 30 inches last week, the ski area, located at 10,300 feet on top of Wolf Creek Pass, won the race to open.
For now, three lifts will be operating on Saturdays and Sundays only. The Wolf Creek Lodge and the Pathfinder Bar are also open for business, along with the ski school and rental shop.
If you're lucky enough to live in the area, get out there and make some turns.
