Officially, winter doesn’t start for another 95 days. But Big Sky’s Lone Peak received its first blanket of snow above 9,000 feet on August 27. And who doesn’t want to make a northern-hemi snow angel in August?

Yes, it’s just hype. Yes, it’s going to melt soon. Yes, we’re still just as fired up as anyone to see cooler temperatures, less smoke, and the first snow coming to the mountains. See image below for daydream inspiration.
