There is the local ski town band and then there is Shred Kelly, a Fernie-based folk rock quintet that you may remember for making the ski music video cool again in 2015. Calling on their local ski bum contingent, along with pro skiers Brody McSkimming, Zak Mousseau, Josh McSkimming, Nakoda Mason and a local acting troupe, Shred Kelly amazingly used a single camera shot to film their action-filled ode to the mountain town, “Sing to the Night.” Filmed at Fernie Alpine Resort by switch-skiing Dylan Siggers, a talented Canadian skier in his own right, the short is a feel good mix of music, straight-ski daffys, and neon hula-hooping that hits every one of the feel good notes this week.

The band stole the show at Whistler Blackcomb’s 50th Anniversary Party over the weekend, getting ski boots on the dance floor and bringing the house down all night.
