Captain Vidar Kirstinsson of the sailboat Aurora Artika, in the Westfjords of Iceland, takes skiers and snowboarders to mountains that are only accessible by boat. Whether it is on the sea or in the mountains, Vidar relies on his gear to withstand the elements to do his job. Boats are harsh on gear, though. So when a jacket is snagged and Vidar has a week or more out at sea, he relies on simple repairs to stay dry.
