SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (Dec. 27, 2012) - Voting for the 13th annual Powder Awards presented by Icelandic Glacial concludes January 2, 2013. The top skiers in the world, as voted by the fans, will be announced live from the opening night of the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on January 17, 2013, with a live webcast at PowderAwards.com.

This year offers three simple ways to vote. Visit PowderAwards.com, click on "VOTE" and enter the names of your top 10 male and top five female skiers. Or, submit a vote via Twitter or Instagram by naming or picturing the athlete you're voting for and including the hashtag #PowderAwardsVote.

With the addition of a social media component, this year's standings have the potential to be dramatically shifted. Last year, Tom Wallisch (@TWallisch) claimed his second consecutive Reader Poll No. 1. With more than 22,000 Twitter followers, Wallisch could easily rally his troops again this year.

Sean Pettit (@seanpettit), Sage Cattabriga-Alosa (@sageAdventure) and Seth Morrison (@sethmorrison1), who finished in second, third and fourth, respectively on last year's Poll also have significant Twitter followings, but Bobby Brown (@Bobby_Brown1), Erik Roner (@Erikroner) and Tanner Hall (@TannerHall), who also finished in the Top 10 last year, each have five digit Twitter followings that could garner enough support to launch them up in the ranks if utilized properly.

In the women's race, Ingrid Backstrom (@ingridbackstrom) continued her six-year winning streak in 2012. She has a solid Twitter following with more than 8,000 fans to call upon. Kaya Turski (@kayaturski), Grete Eliassen (@GRETEGIRL), and Rachael Burks (@rachaelburks), who rounded out the top women in 2012, are also popular in the Tweetosphere.

Kicking off the opening night of the Sundance Film Festival, the biggest night in skiing will honor the world's best skiers, filmmakers, and photographers from with a celebration extraordinaire at Park City Live on Jan. 17. Attendance is open to the public and a live-streaming webcast will begin at 7 p.m. (MST) at PowderAwards.com.

About Icelandic Glacial Natural Spring Water
Born and bottled in √-lfus, Iceland, Icelandic Glacial is the world’s first certified CarbonNeutral¬ģ natural spring bottled water for both product and operations. An environmental pioneer in the industry, Icelandic Glacial uses 100% natural green energy in the form of geothermal and hydroelectric power to fuel production, delivering a super-premium bottled water from pristine Iceland to consumers while maintaining a “net zero” carbon footprint. The source of Icelandic Glacial is Iceland’s legendary √-lfus Spring, a naturally replenished catchment zone formed during a massive volcanic eruption more than 5,000 years ago. The Spring has been deemed certifiably sustainable by Zenith International, Europe’s leading food and drinks consultancy. The √-lfus Spring produces water so pure that nothing is added or taken away. As a result, Icelandic Glacial possesses exceptional balance that is the envy of the industry, featuring a naturally occurring low mineral content and naturally high alkaline pH level of 8.4. As a testament to its exceptional purity, Icelandic Glacial was chosen by Parfums Christian Dior as the exclusive hydration method to be used in their Diorsnow line of skin-lightening beauty products to be released in 2012. Icelandic Glacial is distributed in the United States by Anheuser-Busch, which took a 20 percent ownership stake in the company in July 2007.
