    Eiger Shell Jacket

    $550.00

    BUY NOW

    Manufacturer's Description

The versatile Spyder Eiger shell jacket had great reviews at Thread the Needle. “This is a great all-around shell with plenty of room for layers,” said Ben Kallman. “It seems very waterproof and storm-ready. I’d use it uphill and downhill.” The three-layer Eiger is made from a stretchy nylon, Spyder’s Hydroweb laminate membrane, which adds top-notch breathability and waterproofing, and their Spylon DWR finish.

“It’s very breathable, with a clean all-black look,” said Dane Weister. “It’s a work-horse jacket. I would wear this at the resort or in the backcountry any day.” Oversized chest pockets and long mesh pit zips round out the Spyder Eiger. The only negative feedback it received at Thread the Needle was that the neck cuff was a little low, rough, and uncomfortable.

    Jagged Shell Jacket

    $350.00

    BUY NOW

    Manufacturer's Description

Spyder’s Jagged Shell Jacket is a beefier shell that will hold up against abuse from skiing tight trees, brushing against rocks, and carrying your skis over your shoulder. Designed to be a layering piece, Lyndsay Strange, a ski coach out of Salt Lake City, found it too heavy for touring in moderate temperatures, but a great option for colder weather or in the resort.

The Jagged Shell Jacket is made with HydroWEB. Skiers on the POSSE were even more impressed by the way the material moved moisture from sweat and breath away from the body and out of the jacket. Temperature regulation is the Jagged Shell Jacket’s standout feature, while thoughtful details like good pocket placement at the chest and hips were also appreciated. Adjustable cuffs and the drawcord hem paired with a helmet compatible hood allowed skiers to customize the fit and seal out wind and weather. The long back and wide opening at the bottom make this jacket ideal for women with wide hips.

    Turret Shell Pant

    $300.00

    BUY NOW

    Manufacturer's Description

Spyder’s Turret shell pant has a thick three-layer fabric with stretch polyester, their proprietary Hydroweb membrane for waterproof/breathability, and a DWR finish to repel moisture. They are ideal for colder mornings on the skin track.

“These are burly, skin-ready pants,” said Ben Kallman. “Probably best for cold touring days or resort days. Plenty of room for insulation layers underneath.”

“The heavy-duty material can withstand a lot of abuse,” said Lindsay Strange, on the women’s version. “They’re a bit heavy to be my go-to touring kit, but would probably be good for colder climate touring.”

Fleece lined pockets and inner thigh vents round out the finer details of the Spyder Turret shell pant.
