Recent Snow storms benefit winter park resort

WINTER PARK, COLO., January 10, 2007…Winter Park has definitely been living up to its name this past month. During the month of December the resort received over four feet of new snow, bringing our season to date snowfall to over ten feet. Two major storm systems moved through the area, dropping a total of 31 inches of snow over ten days. All of this new snow has allowed the resort to debut its new chairlift and terrain as well as introduce their new Fresh Tracks Breakfast program.

December snow storms that rolled through Winter Park Resort provided that last amount of snow needed to open the new Eagle Wind chairlift and the 690 acres accompanying this steep and deep terrain, including seven new trails. Located in Vasquez Ridge, this new terrain treats skiers and riders to some of the most phenomenal powder stashes and tree skiing available on the whole mountain.

Debuting in December, the Fresh Tracks Breakfast allows skiers and riders to hit the mountain a half hour before the resort opens to the public. With Fresh Tracks Breakfast, skiers and riders can get their uninterrupted fill of freshies or perfectly groomed corduroy. Starting at 8 a.m. every Saturday morning, 100 guests have seven trails to themselves for about 45 minutes before heading indoors to the mountaintop Lodge at Sunspot to enjoy an elegant breakfast featuring made-to-order omelets, eggs Benedict, freshly-squeezed orange juice, delicious smoothies and Belgian waffles. This program is available by reservation only for $29.99. Reservations may be made with the Guest Contact Center at (800)729-7907.

Mary Jane's famous bump runs are in prime condition with hundreds of tree islands waiting to be discovered. Snow lovers, there is still time to plan your mountain escape and save.
