POC Nominated for 6 Awards in the DESIGNPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2010 Design Competition

POC has been nominated for 6 products/projects in the Designpreis Deutschland 2010, design competition. The design award of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Designpreis Deutschland, is the country's highest distinction in the field of design and is referred to as "The Prize of Prizes."

The award has strict criteria's for nomination. Thus, a company can only enter the competition for the Design Award if its product has already been awarded a national or international design prize. The other precondition for entry is that companies must have been nominated by the Ministries and Senators of the Federal States and by the German Design Council on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The nominated products/projects are:
• POC Flagship Store Chamonix
• POCito kids helmet
• Frontal helmet
• Receptor+ helmet
• Cornea goggles
• Spine VPD Vest/back protector

"We got the hicks up as we received the information," says Stefan Ytterborn, CEO and Founder of POC. "We have had a Gold and a Silver in this very prestigious design competition before, having been nominated three times, for three products. Getting 6 products/projects nominated in the same year, is somewhat abstract. We cross our fingers that one of these nominations may reach Silver or Gold level."
