Lynsey Dyer Joins Tecnica/Blizzard Freeride Team

Top female freeride athlete brings

WEST LEBANON, NH. (November 24, 2010) — Tecnica and Blizzard are excited to announce that Lynsey Dyer has joined the Tecnica & Blizzard Freeride Team. Lynsey is one of the top female freeride athletes in the world with numerous accomplishments and awards to her name.

Lynsey has won every big-mountain competition she's ever entered including the overall Extreme skiing tour in 2005. She's appeared in Warren Miller and Teton Gravity Research films, and this past winter, she was awarded Female Skier of the Year by Powder Magazine. She's hosted a handful of television shows for NBC and ESPN, and even appeared on Good Morning America. In 2006, she co-founded the non-profit She Jumps, which seeks to get girls into outdoor sports and offers avalanche safety and learn-to-ski clinics. Lynsey grew up ski racing in Sun Valley, Idaho, and went on to win a downhill gold in the Junior Olympics. She majored in graphic design while ski racing at Montana State University. After graduating, she hung up the race skis and turned her attention to the Freeride scene.

Frank Shine, the Tecnica / Blizzard Freeride Team Manager, notes,"It has been really fun over the last month talking with Lynsey about Tecnica and Blizzard. Her enthusiasm and energy are truly contagious and we are really proud to have such a high caliber athlete representing our products. We are excited to bring her on not only as an athlete, but also to work with her other creative talents within our marketing and branding."

Lynsey, just back from an anthropologic trip to India to bring bikes to survivors rescued from slavery, says, "I’m so excited to work with a company that’s excited to work with me! The people are rad and my dad (best skier I know) even repped for them back in the 70’s so I know the gear is solid. They’re also eager to let me help make the product even better so I couldn’t be more stoked!"
