Salomon’s QST Line Gets Updates Inside and Out

The popular freeride ski gets a new core construction for 2018

We're at the 2018 Outdoor Retailer, the largest outdoor sports expo and conference in North America. Stay tuned as we preview gear highlights from the show.

One of Salomon's most popular freeride ski lines (and Skier’s Choice winner) the QST lineup sees a few changes for the upcoming season. The biggest update comes on the inside of the ski, with a layer of basalt placed in between the base and core during construction. A fine-grained volcanic rock, the added basalt is used to dampen chatter and hold a stiff flex along the length of the ski, while allowing a little more play than metal. The lineup also received a facelift for the new season, with a new colorway and coordinated color matching with this year's new Warden binding line from Salomon. The lineup widths will remain the same as last year, with a 118, 106, 99, 92, and 85 mm waist width options.
