It's no surprise that Flylow got this piece right. The Tahoe-based apparel company has a knack for making women's gear that actually works for the shape, style, fit, and function that women can appreciate. The Tamara Micropuff Hoody is perfect to layer under a shell on the mountain this winter, and something you can throw on anytime you leave the house thanks to well-placed, color-block lines and a slimming fit.

The 20D nylon ripstop shell is water-resistant and won’t get soaked in falling snow, meaning you can strip down to this puffy on the hot laps and still stay dry. Filled with 60 grams of PrimaLoft Gold insulation, this hoody is super lightweight (packs up small and easy) but seriously toasty.

Snug up in the helmet-compatible hood, and zip up the high collar if you need extra warmth and protection from the elements. Too hot? Look to the underarm zip vents—an added bonus you won't find in most lightweight hoodies. The color combos are a bit odd (I went with the canary), but hey, so are a lot of my best friends. The fit is true to size; and the sleeves are delightfully long enough.

Skiing hot: Versatility at its finest. Wear this hoody on the hill or off.
Skiing not: Don’t leave anything too important—i.e. snacks or your ID—in the snap-close pockets where it could easily fall out. (Stick those treasures in the zippered inside pocket.)
