WATCH: Skiing in Yosemite

From the digital feature, "Monumental: Skiing Our National Parks"

How many videos have you seen of quality skiers passing through, ascending, and descending famed climbing routes in Yosemite National Park? On the 100-year anniversary of the National Park Service, we bring you the digital feature, Monumental: Skiing Our National Parks, presented by REI Co-Op. Subsequent chapters featuring Yellowstone, Olympic, Glacier, and Grand Teton National Parks will launch the next two weeks.

The multimedia experience includes words from Yosemite local Jason Torlano, photographs from Steve Lloyd and others, and video shot by KGB Productions and edited by Hennie Van Jaarsveld of POWDER Productions. Skiers on the Yosemite trip include Andy Mahre, Kalen Thorien, Max Hammer, and Connery Lundin.

Be sure to check out the feature-length film “Monumental: Skiing Our National Parks”, premiering October 20 in Denver, CO, followed by a nationwide tour. The film will be available to download online, as well. Additionally, POWDER produced a 142-page hardcover book of the project, filled with stunning images and intimate personal essays.
