Friday Night Flicks: Pretty Faces

It's ladies night.

Professional big mountain skier and SheJumps co-founder, Lynsey Dyer, created Pretty Faces to give women of all ages a source of inspiration in the form of ski film made by ladies, for the ladies—and these chicks rip. The film mixes pro shots of big mountain skiers with crowd-sourced footage of the prettiest faces out there (the ones above 5,000 feet) including one ultra-inspirational woman landing her first back flip in her 40s. The skiing is tight, as are the bonds of sisterhood unique to women in the mountains. As insane as the skiing is, Pretty Faces isn’t just a ski film, but a great social commentary on the fact that only 14 percent of athletes in major ski films were female this past season, despite the persuasion making up 40 percent of the skiing population. Last fall, shows sold out at every tour stop, and was recognized as one of the year’s best films. They say a diamond is a girl’s best friend—and the way these girls are buddying up to double-diamond terrain proves Pretty Faces the deserving winner of the 2015 Coldsmoke Femme Fatale Award. So gather the gal pals and watch Pretty Faces here at Powder.com. And boys, try to keep up.
