Skiing cars! Snow Puppies! Olympic Dreams!

Rent an entire ski area near NYC for $2,500 per day
Three hours outside of the Big Apple, Plattekill Mountain and its four chairlifts can become privately yours for $2,500 per day, or roughly the price of a walk-up adult ticket at Vail. According the website where you can make a reservation, the rental price includes an open rental shop, food options in the cafeteria, drinks served up at the bar, and a line up of instructors to teach you the difference between pizza and French fry.

Man invents ski car
A Canadian mechanic added skis to his 2006 Mercedes Smart Car and created a new invention—and it only cost him $7,000. Hard to say if spreadable smart cars will become more popular than the Mercedes sprinter vans, but with a couple trendy throw pillows, a tiny succulent garden, and an organic chai latte, #vanlife might have some competition.

Blind skier looking to compete in 2022 Olympic Games
Need some Friday motivation? Two years ago, life-long skier Todd Taylor started to lose his vision, and now has extremely limited eye sight in both eyes and requires a guide to ski. His goal: get he and his guide to the Olympic games. “People keep saying, ‘You can’t do this anymore or you can’t do this anymore.’ But it’s like, ‘Yes, I can.’”

King of the mountain… no, actually
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a series of photographs of their ski trip to the French Alps—their first family holiday since the birth of Princess Charlotte—and while we can’t tell if they are a crew of royal rippers from these photos, we can assume we can’t afford to stay wherever they did and our family Christmas cards will be significantly less regal.

World’s highest ski resort to be built in Tibet
The Telegraph is reporting that China has announced it plans to build the world’s highest ski resort near Lhasa, the capital of Tibet and one of the highest cities in the world at 11,450 feet. It is likely the new resort will topple the current highest in the world, China’s Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which tops 14,800 feet. The new resort will potentially provide ideal conditions for Tibet athletes to train in the run up to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Where can I get a Free(ski) Tibet bumper sticker?
