Woodward de Mexico! Pot resorts! Testosterone saves skiing!

Blaine Gallivan lets the good times roll
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Bridger Brigade, but according to this new edit from Blaine Gallivan, the crew had no trouble finding the goods this winter.

Who Skied it Better: Music Edition
Welcome back to Who Skied it Better, the game show you still haven’t realized you missed yet. In this week’s thrilling installment, we look at ski-inspired music from two men with a little too much time on their hands. First up, Colorado-based dad rapper Lif’ Ticket with his ode to the chairlift footrest, followed by Youtube’s Natrosaxide who is all about that base, ‘bout that base, no skiing. Did I mention they had a little too much time on their hands?

Lif’ Ticket—Footrest

Natrosaxide—All About that Base Area

And then we all got shown up by…camping?
Welp.

Big air snowboarding added to Olympics…no word on ski event
The IOC added four new events to the 2018 Winter Olympic docket this week, including the alpine team event, mixed curling doubles, mass start speed skating, and big air snowboarding. Noticeably absent was the addition of big air skiing, an event that has blown up in recent years at the X Games and even has its own stops on the World Cup circuit. There is still time for the event to be added ahead of 2018, but if it doesn’t make the cut, Jossi Wells has (unofficially) vowed to switch over to the darkside just long enough to steal the snowboarding gold.

Woodward to bring freeskiing to Mexico and the Caribbean
The famous action sports training facility is taking its action south of the border, partnering with company All Inclusive Collection to bring a facility to the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya by 2016. However, Woodward isn’t stopping there, as they have also announced plans for a Woodward Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Imagine, ski training Spring Break style. What could possibly go wrong?

Tribute to a man’s best friend guaranteed to make you cry
This ode to Denali has been making the rounds on the Internet this week and tears at the heartstrings of any one of us that has ever had a snow pooch. Got me tearing up on the Internet over here, jeesh.

Man claims testosterone helped save him in ski crash
An Austin, Texas, man involved in a serious ski crash at Breckenridge last season credits an increase in testosterone with his recovery. Steve Lawton broke his sternum and six vertebrae, along with collapsing his lung, and tearing an artery after sliding head first into a tree about a year ago, but has made a miraculous recovery due in part to a testosterone treatment plan that has kept his hormones level and his attitude positive. It’s an unlikely story, but perhaps “bro-ing hard” isn’t actually as bad as we thought?

Colorado opening pot resort
Durango, Colorado, is adding a green alternative to its lodging options this July with the opening of CannaCamp, the state’s first pot resort. Basically a marijuana-friendly dude ranch the CannaCamp will feature a Wake and Bake Breakfast, along with marijuana yoga sessions, and pot-infused massages. Per state law CannaCamp will not be providing any weed to patrons, but cannabis enthusiasts are welcome to share the wealth anywhere on premises. Quite the offer, if you ask me.
