It’s hard to believe the 09/10 season is already wrapping up. It’s a bittersweet time for any skier—bluebird skies, endless hours of sunshine, and soft spring snow provide for some of the season’s best days, but in the back of our minds we know it won’t last long and soon the chairs will stop spinning and summer will officially take over.

One of the best parts about spring skiing are the sweet deals offered up by the resorts that allow you to maximize your on-snow days and minimize the stress on your wallet. From spring passes to discounted tickets, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the final days of winter.

It’s also time to start thinking about next year’s season pass too with early-bird pricing already at numerous resorts. And in this economic climate resorts know skiers don’t want to pay the big bucks for passes anymore. Big Sky, Montana, for instance, is selling 2010/11 season passes for only $799—40% less than last year’s price. According to Dax Scheiffer, director of public relations for Big Sky, “the economy is definitely a piece of it. Some people may have been priced out over the last couple years and we’d like to have them back. And in economic times like this its great to be able to offer that. We think its really going to generate a lot of customers and bring people back to Big Sky.”
