Opening days are happening across the ski world this week. And at Grand Targhee, the season started with a banger pow day on November 22, a day that also marked the ski resort’s 45th anniversary. The guys who caught first chair arrived before dawn, followed by many others who hoped to scores some turns in the fresh snow that fell the week prior. They said it was some of the best early skiing in 10 years. Here’s hoping that trend continues through the rest of the winter. —Julie Brown
