With the season opening Freeride World Tour competition in Revelstoke starting Jan. 7, we spoke with local Izzy Lynch about where to eat, drink, ski and be merry.
Coffee: The Modern Café. “I’m sitting here now,” said Lynch on the phone. “I’m addicted to their cinnamon buns. It’s the hub of Revelstoke. You walk in and you’re bound to see somebody you know.”
Lunch on the Hill: Lynch likes La Baguette, a French Café with soups and sandwiches, located at the village base and on-mountain at the Mackenzie Outpost.
Skiing: “You have to hit up North Bowl,” said Lynch. “Go all the way to Greeley. The terrain is awesome. There are countless numbers of lines to ski, you’ll never get bored. It’s super easy to get lost, which makes it fun, and there’s always somewhere in there to find fresh pow.”
Après: Lynch loves The Village Idiot pub for pizza and Mt. Begbie beers.
Dinner: The Woolsey Creek Café offers fine dining fusion with locally sourced organic ingredients.
Bowling: The Cabin is a snowboard shop that also has miniature bowling and fish bowl-sized cocktails.
Partying: Lynch likes the Last Drop for live music. Plus, whenever it snows more than 10 centimeters at Revy (which is often), jugs of beer are only $10.
