It’s June, which means bikes, solstice parties, evaluating the reemergence of Birkentstocks, and heavy FOMO toward those skiers able to go south. New Zealand’s ski season begins this week with the opening of three resorts on Saturday, June 13. Mount Hutt, Coronet Peak, and Cardrona will all have lifts running. The remaining resorts are scheduled to open beginning mid-June through the first week of July.
Coming off a lackluster winter throughout the northern hemisphere (with an exception to those in the East) the southern hemisphere is off to a more promising start. Treble Cone, set to open June 25, already has 41 inches of snow, and predictions call for more throughout the week.
Fashion is fickle. Investing in the Birk trend could come back to get you. Putting that money toward a New Zealand adventure is a sure thing.
