POWDER Magazine is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
Part-time position to work remotely
This person must possess passion and deep understanding of both filming and editing. Knowledge of and ample personal experience with skiing is mandatory, in addition to experience in creating, conceptualizing, and editing stories told through video. Person will be responsible for ensuring the video and editing production quality of all promotional, commercial, and branded content for Powder, as well as storyboarding and producing high-production video features and edits. Position requires four-plus years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within film. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Because this position is based remotely, the applicant must possess excellent communication skills and be able to follow through on tight deadlines. Job includes travel for editorial features and events.
• Organized and meticulous with prioritizing various tasks
• Works under daily and weekly deadlines as administered by editorial staff
• Detail oriented
• Ability to communicate and interact in a professional manner across all organizational levels
• Ability to organize, log, and maintain data and video resource files
• Expert knowledge in editing software (Final Cut, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
• Familiar with lighting, studio setup, and set design
