Rossignol’s Rosalind Groenewoud (Roz G) has been named the 2010 AFP (Association of Freeskiing Professionals) Overall Women’s Champion for the second year in a row. Roz had an impressive results year in both halfpipe and slopestyle, edging out Dania Assaly in 2nd and Sarah Burke in 3rd.

Roz had a strong year in Superpipe competitions, with 4 podiums including one X-Games and Euro X-Games. It was those four podiums that placed Roz 2nd in the AFP Superpipe rankings. In slopestyle Roz finished strongly in 8th place in the AFP rankings. Where skiers are mostly specializing in their competition disciplines, Roz has been successful in both disciplines of women’s competition.

“We here at Rossignol could not be more excited for Roz, she trains harder then any other girl out there, and no one is more devoted to the park and pipe competition scene” says Matt Rihm, Rossignol’s Team Manger. “Roz was just named to our international team this year, she clearly deserves the spot!”

Roz skis on Rossignol’s S4 Jib. The S4 has won more X-Games medals than any other ski out there. The S4 has a rebound tip and a rubber layer between the sidewalls and edge to absorb shocks and increase durability when landing large airs. The WRS (weight reduction system) concept makes it a super lightweight jib ski. The award winning twin-tip rips in the pipe, park and all-mountain.
