Storm Dispatch: Alta, Utah

Another foot of snow fell overnight bringing this storm's total to nearly 50 inches

A slow start to the season just got remedied with a three day blast of on and off dumpage, cold temps, and a lot of blower. Locals rejoiced as winter turned around practically overnight. A bonus foot last night prompted the first interlodge (when residents and visitors are required by law to stay indoors due to avalanche danger) of the year when a natural slide off Superior hit the main road, but crews with the Utah Department of Transportation got it open early and skiers welcomed some bluebird after two days of snows. Another system is in the forecast after the weekend.
