Stevens Pass Early Season Opening, Saturday November 19, 2011
From Stevenspass.com — Leavenworth, WA. (Nov. 17) — Stevens Pass celebrates the snow-filled return of La Niña with an early season opening on Saturday, November 19th, 2011. Recent cold temperatures and periods of heavy snowfall combined with a strong winter weather outlook have provided Stevens Pass with an adequate base to support the 3rd earliest season opening in the past 25 years. As of Thursday at noon, 25 inches of snow was reported at the base, with 32 inches reported at the upper mountain weather station.
“The combination of cold temperatures and early season snow, coupled with the tireless efforts of our mountain staff has enabled us to get the resort running early this season.” said John Gifford, General Manager at Stevens Pass. “The La Niña climate forecast for this winter is encouraging and, as with any year where we open before the Thanksgiving holiday, we are very optimistic about a strong season to come.”
Stevens Pass will open for daily operations this Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm with terrain offerings on the Daisy and Brooks chairlifts. Additional terrain and chairlifts will be added as conditions allow.
Reduced lift ticket pricing will be in effect in accordance with the early season conditions and limited terrain offerings; all-day lift tickets will start at $25. Resort Food and Beverage services scheduled to operate include the Bulls Tooth Pub & Eatery, Foggy Goggle Lounge, Cascadian Kitchen, Iron Goat Pizza Station and the T-Bar Market. The Rental Tech Center and Stevens Pass Ski & Snowboard School will also be open for business, as will The Edge retail store.
