Grand Targhee Resort receives over three feet of snow in four days

(Alta, WY – January 2, 2010)  - A series of stacked storms from the west have blanketed Grand Targhee Resort with 37 inches of snow since December 30, 2009.

“Thanks to all the fresh snow it’s been a fantastic holiday week for our guests,” said Shannon Brooks Hamby, Communications Manager, Grand Targhee Resort.

Grand Targhee Resort has been busy in the rental shop, with one of the deepest and most accessible demo fleets in the country.  Guests have access to over 20 models of skis and 10 models of snowboards, hand-picked to enhance the powder conditions Targhee is known for.

“The acquisition of Habitat last spring allowed us to expand our lines of hard-to-find boutique skis and boards like the Armada JJ, the NAS Freeride and Snow Mullet from Lib Tech, and the Shaman from Icelantic,” said Ryan Christensen, Rental Shop Manager at Grand Targhee Resort.  “We also have a full line from Volkl, K2 and Burton – including the popular Volkl Gotama, K2 Darkside and Burton Custom.”

Other guests have been taking full advantage of the Early Tracks program – a 1.5 hour lesson that starts a half hour before the lifts open.

Those who want quick access to the goods are booking the Roll Outta Bed and Ride package, featuring slopeside lodging, lift ticket and adult lesson starting at just $69 per person, per night.
