For Immediate Release
MONT TREMBLANT – March 26, 2014 – Mont Tremblant will play host to a village-wide public freeski competition, Red Bull Foret Urbaine, on Saturday, April 12, 2014. To close the ski and snowboard season, the competition will showcase Canada's top freeskiers as they descend through a custom designed 'jib' course constructed entirely of natural log features, built completely outdoors in the streets of the village. Open to spectators into the evening, the freeski event is partially inspired by the world-renowned Red Bull Playstreets.
The Red Bull Foret Urbaine course will pay tribute to Mont Tremblant's storied history of logging. With obstacles that are 'locally sourced' and constructed entirely from logs, the course will stretch a full 400m long, challenging skiers to navigate down two lines stemming from a local Mont Tremblant hotel room balcony. Ending with a 15-foot cannon pipe, skiers will make the final drop into a closed street and across the course finish line. A panel of judges on-site will crown one ultimate winner.
