Votes were unanimous on the Arc’teryx Sentinel Bib: The fit is dialed. A generous cut gives the Sentinel plenty of room for big moves without paying homage to ’90s-era baggy pants, and fits a range of shapes and sizes well. Three-layer Gore-Tex construction and DWR finish make the Sentinel a solid choice for protection from the elements (and means it’s windproof and waterproof). The lightly brushed lining offers a touch of extra warmth and coziness from winter temps, but makes them just a bit too warm for late spring tours. Instead, enjoy at the height of winter in the backcountry with a light baselayer, or inbounds with a slightly warmer baselayer. Double side zips open in a flash for some extra ventilation and generously sized thigh pockets—with water-tight zippers—give you enough room to store bigger things while keeping them out of the typical impact zone.
