She skied without a hat, sunglasses, goggles, or self-consciousness. Her windblown blond locks lapped her squinted eyes, her pink mitts covered her 4-year-old fingers. Unable to turn, she skied willy-nilly until she gained too much speed. Every 100 feet, she plopped down, tumbled, and came up giggling, taking every skier with her, back to their halcyon youth.
